Who is SoPhilly?
SoPhilly is a group of neighbors just like you who have been meeting for the past year to schedule trash cleanups, tree planting, gardening, and to address zoning issues. Although SoPhilly has been active for only a year, we’ve all been living in and contributing to the neighborhood for much longer than that!
What are SoPhilly’s goals?
Our goals are to make improvements in the neighborhood for all the blocks and all the communities within DNCA. We will talk with anyone who is interested to find out what is important to you. We will involve as many neighbors as possible to make these improvements happen!

This will be the last general assembly before the deadline to apply for DNCA candidacy on August 31. We will have one more meeting before the DNCA election on September 17.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at our our meeting last Wednesday. It was great to see some new faces, it’s always great to get more involvement from the community.
Please note that our next meeting is on August 3rd, 7pm, at the Parsons Building in the middle of Dickinson Square Park. All are encouraged to attend.
SoPhilly is putting together a roster of candidates to run for the Dickinson Narrows (DNCA) election on September 17. We need more people to fill the following positions and hand in our applications by August 31:
Please let us know if you are interested in participating. We will be scheduling several meetings between now and August 31 to finalize our ticket and prepare for the election.
To be eligible, you must be a resident of the current DNCA boundaries (4th to 6th, Washington to Mifflin) and be able to prove it. Proof may consist of one or more of the following:

Who is SoPhilly?
SoPhilly is a group of neighborhood residents who formed in August 2010 to figure out what was going on with our local civic association, DNCA. Meanwhile we organized several trash cleanups, formed several committee groups (safety, zoning and others), and got to know each other.
For the upcoming DNCA election we’ve decided to form our own ticket and hopefully win as a group so we can continue to do good things in our neighborhood.
We will be meeting on Wednesday July 6 at 7pm to discuss September elections for Dickinson Narrows (DNCA).
DNCA is the officially recognized community group for the area of 4th-6th and Mifflin to Washington Streets. This will be the first successful election for the group since it formed in 2006.
SoPhilly is forming it’s own ticket to run for President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and 5 additional board members.
If you’d like to join our team – or have a say in who does – please join our meeting. We need your help to win this election in September.

We’ll be having our next SoPhilly meeting on June 1 at 7pm. It will be the same location as usual – the Parsons Building in the middle of Dickinson Square Park.
An important topic for our meeting is the upcoming Dickinson Narrows (DNCA) election in September 2011. SoPhilly plans to put together a united ticket so we can run together.
